How the name "The Wolf and Beaver" originated.

A new name was sourced from many areas, and we know that Wolves are very scarce in England, the last died in 1743, and as for the Beaver, well the history is not as strong. They were hunted to extinction in England in the 16th Century, but in October 2005, 6 European Beavers were re- introduced to Britain in Lower Mill Estate in Gloucestershire, and there are plans for re-introductions in Scotland and Wales.

The suggestion of The Fox and Beaver touched a nerve, but when you have a partnership involved, and with the nicknames, one of the “Grey Wolf” and the other of “Beaver”, it left little choice for the end result.

Hence.

“THE WOLF AND BEAVER”
